Rajasthan Royals Preview

The inaugural winners have definitely turned their squad around with a great team this season. They have good squad depth and great leadership from Kumar Sangakkara and Lasith Malinga. They are one of the strongest sides this season.

Strongest XI :

Devdutt Paddikal

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Sanju Samson ©️ (wk)

Jos Buttler

Shimron Hetmyer

James Neesham

Ravichandran Ashwin

Navdeep Saini

Trent Boult

Prasidh Krishna

Yuzvendra Chahal

They have a destructive batting line-up with quality batsmen. Their middle is decent with Jos Buttler being the only issue in the middle. He would be better suited as an opener. They have good finishers in Shimron Hetmyer and James Neesham. In their lower middle order, Ravi Ashwin and Navdeep Saini can provide some pinch-hitting. The spin department is probably the best this season with seasoned match-winners in Ashwin and Chahal. It can be reinforced by introducing Riyan Parag. Their pace is decent with Trent Boult leading the charge. Prasidh Krishna will be a good support pacer. But the rest of the pace is a bit lacking. Navdeep Saini has not been at his best and James Neesham is yet to establish himself in the IPL. Nathan Coulter-Nile is a reserve option. Lasith Malinga will surely lead them well. One more obstacle for them is their captaincy. Sanju Samson has only captained for one season. Despite all complications, they are still a reckoning force and could rock the league.

Predicted finish - 4th
